As the deities pass by, villagers ignite mountains of firecrackers and fireworks to welcome them. The entire street is enveloped in gunpowder smoke and deafening explosions, creating a breathtaking scene reminiscent of a "battlefield." This is also the locals' way of praying for a booming and prosperous year. However, in 2026, disregarding the strong opposition of the villagers, the Lufeng authorities forcefully implemented a "firecracker ban," prohibiting people from setting off firecrackers during the Spring Festival parades. This ultimately triggered a massive, city-wide protest.
