Post ‘offensive text’? 80% reach reduction Offensive username? 80% reach reduction All caps tweet? That’s seen as ‘shouting’. Major penalization. Include links? Yup, penalized
What are the offensive terms, topics, and words? Conveniently they’ve been left out of this code Hidden in adult_tokens dot text. If anyone at X has access to this file hit your boy up 👀 There also several other crazy ways to get deboosted:👇
Low text quality (misspellings or tweeting like a moron) Replying to accounts that don’t follow you Spammy posts Being a new account- you start at -128 tweepcred when you sign up. You need a minimum score of 17 to be seen! But how does shadowbanning work? 👇
A label gets applied to your account, which destroys your reach Here are all the labels that can be applied to you (some interesting ones here): Low quality tweets, spam, toxicity, untrusted URL (lol), NSFW, gore, or mentioning a person multiple times
Also the way people engage with your posts can hurt you If someone says ‘not interested in this tweet’, ‘see fewer posts like this’, you get reported, blocked, or muted, you get deboosted for 3 MONTHS!!!
Ok we talked about how you get deboosted. Let’s talk about how you get BOOSTED Post a video? If people watch it for more than 10 seconds you get a MASSIVE boost Dwelling on your text posts also helps. If people spend 2+ seconds looking at your post, it’ll be pushed to more people Quotes and bookmarks are also MASSIVE too.
Few other ways you can get boosted: Blue check mark is huge, if you don’t have one you’re toast Legacy verified get an ADDITIONAL boost Being considered a ‘viral account’ boosts you too. Send posts viral and you’ll be prioritized
So here are some insights: 1. Avoid offensive language at all costs 2. Build your reputation score. Preserve it at all costs 3. Get good engagement. Quotes and bookmarks are massive 4. Quality > quantity is important for media. You need 10 seconds watched for your media to be seen 5. Don’t be an A hole. Getting muted can crush you. 6. Get the blue checkmark 7. Create content that takes longer than 2 seconds to read
